Australian Cuisine is a melting pot of rich ethnic influences and sophisticated cultural diversity.  Since the arrival of the first European settlers in the late 18th century, Australia has reflected the tastes and traditions of nearly every nationality to reach it’s shores.

 

The greatest impact on Australia’s present day culinary trends is the result of increasing global migration patterns that started in the 1950’s and continue today.  Over the past fifty years, food styles from the Mediterranean, China, India, Japan, and South-East Asia have dramatically expanded on the multicultural fusion of what is now characterized as “Australian Cuisine.”
